I recently spoke with SANWA General Manager SATO SHINYA

I asked Mr. Shinya if we could chat and discuss all things SANWA...here's the result.

SANWA is synonymous with "Quality Testing Equipment" since its inception it has gone on to become a global leader in the Electronics Testing Industry. Can you give us a little more insight into how the company was originally founded?

SANWA was established as a company manufacturing and selling diagnostic tools, or multi-testers (circuit testers) for use in equipment repair, following the increased popularity of radio receivers during World War II(1939-1945). After World War II in 1954 April, Sanwa begins to export overseas, to countries such as Argentina, USA, China, Brazil and India. The rest, is multimeter history.

How old is the company and what is the anniversary date for SANWA ?

Sanwa was created back in August, 1941.

This year (2021) marks the 80th Anniversary for SANWA!

Can you tell us what was the very first test instrument that SANWA created ?

Yes , it was the UNIVERSAL TESTER, our very first Multimeter of sorts! It measured up to 1000V.

How many employees does Sanwa currently employ? How many factories?

Not long ago, the channel had a SANWA Week, it was one of the most popular segments on the channel...users commented on the lineup of test equipment that Sanwa offers.

What makes SANWA different from Other Electronic OEMs?

Sanwa imports all Made in Taiwan and China products to our Japanese factory, from there we will check the quality based on Japanese strict quality control. If the instrument(s) passes then we export the products to our agents throughout the world for the Global Market.

Can you tell us if SANWA has any special long terms plans or goals over next few years..?

SANWA demographics makes this a difficult question to answer.

However, the younger SANWA generation is focused on developing new products for Niche testing markets. As always, we hope SANWA will be on the forefront of test instrumentation development and engineering.
